Your Taurus Knows Everything About You...Creepy

This spooky Taurus teaser spot plays like the tongue-in-cheek trailer for a voyeuristic creepshow movie.  Our JWT Team produced, shot, edited and finished the spot with Digital Kitchen (now DK) in Seattle, WA on an incredibly small budget.  Despite our budget shortcomings, however, Digital Kitchen Creative Director, Paul Matthaues, and the DK Team delivered a great looking spot that eerily conveys the advanced safety technology in every Taurus.  The DK Team shot the supers as live action elements through glass bottles, and used x-rays, and other strange projected backplate images to give all of the supers a creepy organic look that underscored the creepy message of a car that "Knows How Long Your Legs Are."  The atonal music and sound design we created with Elias Music also contributes to the disorienting nature of the spot.  Producing this spot definitely felt like I was back in film school...in a good way.

Tag You're It

This spot for Ford Windstar is one of the first live action spots I ever had the chance to produce, and it remains one of my favorites for its simple message and execution.  Like the kids playing tag thoughout the spot recognize, there is no safer place than a Ford Windstar minivan.  Director Larry August and the production team at Avalon Films shot the spot for us in Calgary, Alberta, as a last minute add-on to a late fall running footage package---and they totally overdelivered.  In retrospect, Calgary also ended up being a perfect location because those kids really knew how to play tag.  Editor Stewart Shevin, then with Griot (now Beast), put together a fun edit, and the simple child-like, Bobby McPherrin-esque track, composed by Luis Resto and Greg Doyle at Monster Music, sets a great mood for the spot.
